"Creation & Confinement" MODULE

This training session is carried out in collaboration with 2 clinical psychologists practicing in psychiatric hospitals and prisons.

Emilie EDELMAN

A clinical psychologist, she works in a psychiatric service located in prison. She receives there adolescents and adult detainees in need of a space to speak and receive care.

The common thread of his professional career is his concern to make psychotherapeutic work accessible to a public whose approach requires a malleability of the exercise of the psychologist, who must constantly reinvent his framework of work, but also the methods of meeting with his patient.

In this, she opens her clinical practice to storytelling, to this sensory and mythical language, which engages a creativity of body and speech that thwarts the confinements of the subject.
Driven by a desire to transmit, she shares her research in communications and during training activities.

Vincent RENAULT

A clinical psychologist practicing in adult psychiatry for more than 15 years, he has been able to acquire solid knowledge in psychopathology and psychotherapy.

Whether individually or in a group, his constant concern is to be able to adjust his position and his therapeutic practice as well as possible, to welcome the subject in the singularity of his request and his suffering.

It is particularly in this context that he was able to experience the clinical relevance of a cultural and artistic approach, through painting workshops, artistic mediation workshops for therapeutic purposes... This practice led him to deepen his reflection on creativity, art, pictorial expression, with its therapeutic effects, its effects on social ties, on "living together.

Psychoanalysis and more particularly authors such as DW Winnicott, René Roussillon, Anne Brun... have nourished his work and his thinking for more than 20 years. In this movement, the objective is to make possible the process of symbolization via the material, by developing the creativity of the subject. Thus, it is postulated that it is not the material, the object, that heals, but the relationship that is woven between the subject, the group and the therapist (or the animator in the general sense) via the object of mediation. There is therefore no exhibition of the works produced in the art therapy workshop. These remain in this place of experimentation without aesthetic issues or value judgments.

Specialized educator for 10 years, in boarding schools as well as in an open environment (AEMO), she benefits from solid experience in the field in different establishments, driven by the constant search for what is the basis of the singularity of each, the possibility that is offered to relate to himself and to others, to consider himself and to be considered other than by the symptom.
